Search Engine Optimization
Search engine optimization and search engine marketing can help you get consistent traffic to your web site. I’ve been researching and learning search engine optimization since 2007 and I’ve learned by doing and producing results on both my own websites and my clients. I’ve previously worked for many advertising agencies in Columbus Ohio where I performed SEO strategy for a variety of clients.
Listed below are some of the success stories I’ve had with SEO.
Bruening Glass Works
I redesigned the Bruening Glass Works site in November of 2008. The owner, Marc Konys is my uncle. Up until that point the site had averaged about 300 visits a month and got about 5-6 jobs off of the internet a month. I redesigned the site, did keyword research and implemented a content management system for the company.
Since that time the site traffic is now averaging almost 4,000 visits a month. Marc now gets leads and business from customers all over the globe.Needless to say the new web site structure has achieved great results for Bruening Glass Works. I’m now also working to implement the same formula on Marc’s other web site: http://www.marckonys.com
WorthingtonJewlers.com
I worked with Worthington Jewelers on a SEO campaign to target Columbus, Ohio based keywords. They were having success owning terms around Worthington but the most search terms around jewelery and engagement rings were geo targeted around Columbus, Ohio.
I redesigned and relaunched the site in Jan of 2010. Traffic increased 218% from Dec 2009 to Dec 2010. In that same time period traffic increased 187% from search engines.
Marckonys.com
Marc approached me in January of 2008 about increasing traffic to his site. At that time, he was averaging about 100 visits a month to his site. I looked at the site and decided to restructure it to be more search engine friendly.
Within 4 months the site traffic had jumped 400% and the traffic has remained steady since that period of time. I also set up a blog on his site which when done properly, will help with targeting search engines.
Zangmeister Center
In 2009, the Zangmeister Center wanted to both restructure their website and target relevant keywords for search engines. I performed keyword research and restructured their website to target these keywords.
The setup of the website is unique in that the pages on the website are actually posts. The results of this reconfigured website were a significant increase in targeted terms in the Columbus Ohio region.
athenshub.com
I started athenshub.com in January of 2008 while in grad school. The goal of it was to learn how to get traffic to your site through SEO.
I’ve done no traditional marketing of the site and I get somewhere between 3,000 and 4,000 visits a month. The most popular section of the web site is the rentals section. It’s critical for students to find off campus housing at Ohio University each year. The site serves as a resource to find the location and availability of rentals in Athens, Ohio
couponland.org
Couponland is a affiliate marketing site that I own and operate. I designed and constructed the web site using photoshop, asp, and sql server. I launched the web site in August of 2009. The site serves as a place for me to experiment with different SEO tactics. Despite being only 6 months old, the site is profitable. I’ve worked to both update the site and build links on a regular basis. The site also has a twitter and facebook presence.
